We had a lovely week in Koh Samui with our families. The Angthong Villa seemed amazing on the website, but when we first arrived we were all speechless. Our own private tropical garden, pond and infinity pool leading into the ocean. We spent much of the week relaxing and enjoying what the villa had to offer; leisurely swims, excursions in the sea kayak to nearby islands and the Big Buddha, late night billiard games, fresh fruit smoothies and seemingly endless amounts of food.
We had a few group outings that took us through the jungle on the backs of elephants, to untouched beaches and lagoons in the Ang Thong National Marine Park and to the nearby Fisherman’s Village.
The highlight of our week was of course our vow ceremony! The entire day was laid out beautifully for us by our wedding planner Cathy from Samui Beach Weddings. An indescribable amount of flowers all laid out perfectly, a ceremony performed in a mix of English and German for our families, tropical drinks and sparkling wine, traditional fire balloons, incredible Thai food from a five-star chef and a surprise fire dancing show!
Yesterday we said goodbye to our families and made our way North. We will now commence with four weeks of backpacking, taking us through Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.
